“Then he told them, ‘As you go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to everyone.'” ~ Mark 16:15 (ISV)
When Jesus left this earthly realm, he gave a command to his followers. As a Christian, we are His followers and this command is for us. God made it so simple. There’s only four clearly spelled out parts to this directive. Yet, we make it so complicated and then don’t do it.
Here’s the four parts of this directive:
- What? “Go.” This verb or action word means, “to move on a course”.
- Where? “… into all the world …”. Not part of it. Not what’s just easy to reach, but ALL.
- How? “… “proclaim the gospel …” Sharing the good news as a witness of what Jesus Christ has done in your heart and life.
- To Whom? “… to everyone …”. Again there’s the same concept to ALL.
As Christian speakers, writers, singers … communicators, this is our directive. It should be the basis of each of our ministries/businesses. It should be our vision plan, action plan, business/ministry plan … our daily plan. We should wake up each day trying to do anything and everything possible to achieve this. Yet, this seems to be forgotten or changed to only those who come see us speak, sing, or attend our events, and/or those who read our books or buy our music.
While the above methods do allow for one to reach many people, they also miss the mark of reaching all. They also solely rely on the person(s) COMING to us, not us GOING to them, as stated by Jesus. We are to GO!
I recently wrote an article, “It’s Time to Sow Seeds” that shares many activities a Christian Communicator can do to GO into all the world. I’ve also created a training program that gives step-by-step instructions and case studies for going into all the world. Places you’ve only dreamed of going and reaching with the gospel.
The directive to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone” is easier to achieve today than ever before. God has given us an incredibly effective tool, or vehicle, to do so. It’s called, “the Internet”. You might be using some of it. But, do you try to find new, creative, and effective ways to use it every day to reach a lost and dying world? Think of the Internet as your planes, trains, and automobiles to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the world where Christ is not known. Do you harness the power of the Internet to take you and your message to the far corners of your community, state, region, country, and to places where you will never physically go? If not, you’re missing the greater majority of the “all” God has for you to reach.
There’s accountability and responsibility in going into all the world. One day, we will all stand before God and be asked to give an account of what we did with the resources He gave us to use in preaching the gospel to everyone.
Here’s a few questions for you to answer on this topic:
- When are you going?
- What are you using to get there?
- Where are you going?
- How do you plan to reach more people?
- Why are you motivated, or not motivated, to go?
- Are people responding and becoming followers of Jesus Christ?
